Dear Colleagues and Friends,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee it is my great pleasure to invite you to participate in the XIIIth International Symposium on Supramolecular Chemistry (ISSC-XIII), which will be held on the campus of the University of Notre Dame, Indiana, USA, from Sunday, July 25 to Friday, July 30, 2004. The ISSC series is a central and highly anticipated event for the international scientific community involved in the various aspects of supramolecular chemistry.
The Symposia take place every alternate year in different countries and provide an ideal atmosphere for the leading and the younger scientists to meet with each other. The program for ISSC-XIII will include lecture presentations on a wide range of interdi sciplinary topics such as self-assembly, nanostructures, host-guest chemistry, recognition at interfaces, supramolecular sensors, and biomolecular recognition. In addition, the first day of the symposium will include a series of NSF Workshops on Supramole cular Chemistry which will be of particular interest to students. Poster sessions are also an important part of ISSC-XIII, and will enable researchers to present their latest findings to a respected international audience.
The site of the conference is the University of Notre Dame, which is located in the small city of South Bend, Indiana and 90 miles (140 kms) east of Chicago. The university campus is very attractive with many trees and gardens, two natural lakes, walking paths, and interesting architecture. The university has modern conference facilities, with accommodation in the campus hotels or the university dormitories. The relaxed, informal atmosphere of the campus setti ng will promote a productive exchange of ideas.
“We Will Rock You” is a spectacular musical stage show that combines the humorous prowess of Ben Elton and the musical genius of rock band Queen. The musical features stunning costumes, sets and lighting. The talented international cast includes New Zealand’s pop princess Annie Crummer as the Killer Queen and “Rock Star INXS” finalist MiG Ayesa. Well known rock anthems, an energetic cast and clever scripting make this show quite entertaining. We will Rock You has everything, great costumes, hilarious storyline, and most of all awesome voices! The We will Rock You theme is developed around a time in future on the Planet Mall. It is a futuristic world where musical instruments are banned and the only tracks generated are by the Company Computers. We Will Rock You theme is mainly about the good old rock music featuring 26 of Queen’s legendary hits including “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “We Are The Champions”, “Killer Queen”, “Another One Bites The Dust” and “This Crazy Little Thing Called Love”.
